Old Kempton Distillery was founded by a group of friends who shared a love of whisky and a belief that matching passionate people with the finest Tasmanian ingredients would naturally yield exceptional results.

Originally established in 2012 as Redlands Estate Distillery, the need to find a new location in 2015 led us up the road to Kempton. It was here that our Cellar Door found its home in the historic Dysart House, with the adjoining paddocks becoming grounds for our new distillery and bond stores.

Here in Tasmania's Southern Midlands, we continue to make our Single Malt Whisky with an approach that focuses on sourcing high quality local ingredients and processing them using a traditional hands-on approach to distilling that priorities patience, attention to detail, and connection with the spirit over modernisation, automation, and volume.
